I think that this idea of online townhalls is a good idea overall. Aside from that I do recognize and agree with Lazer's rebuttal that information on the internet is not necessarily secure and that someone running an online townhall could easily decide to exclude important questions. I think that we could implement systems like this but only with the proper regulation. Perhaps some sort of informal institution could be implemented to aid in the regulation.
